Pearl is a 22 year old registered Haflinger mare who stands about 13.3 hh.  She is well trained to ride and drive for most any level and has no vices.  Pearl has a condition called Fecal Water Syndrome.  She cannot digest long stem forage (hay), it gives her severe diarrhea and she loses extreme amounts of weight. Under our vet's direction, we completely changed Pearl's diet over the past 3 months and you can see the dramatic change in her condition. She has gained 150 lbs, has formed manure, and her color changed! It is imperative that her adopter is prepared to supplement Pearl with hay substitute and have pasture available in the summer.
