EQUINE CARE COORDINATOR/TRAINER

This is a paid position requiring about 30 hours per week. Weekday afternoons and Sundays are required.   Wage range from $18-20/hour. 

The ideal candidate would have professional experience managing an equine facility, covering all aspects of horse care including first aid, medication administration and nutrition knowledge. The candidate needs to have the skill, courage and sensitivity to assess rescue equines and identify their needs to help them become more adoptable, as well as creating a plan for each and training them within their capabilities.  The ability to keep health records current, hold for appointments, meet with potential adopters and assess matching horses to homes properly are also all important aspects of this position.  Candidates must be able to work as a team with supervisor, other staff and volunteers.

CARETAKER ASSISTANT

This is a volunteer position that requires a commitment of one morning shift per week, working one on one with an Equine Caretaker staff member.  Tasks included would be the routine daily care of the horses such as feeding, turnout, cleaning stalls and sheds, maintenance of inside and outside water supplies, as well as other regular duties. Candidates are expected to work outside in all weather conditions and be physically able to complete the work required.

TRAINER ASSISTANT

This is a volunteer position that requires a commitment to one afternoon shift a week, working one on one with our resident trainer helping the horses to become more adoptable and with whatever projects may require an extra hand. Candidates are expected to work outside in all weather conditions and be physically able to complete the tasks expected.  This position also requires candidates to be confident in handling horses with some experience in grooming and groundwork.

SATURDAY FEED CREW

 Saturdays are all volunteer staffed. Team members are on a rotating schedule in small groups of 2-3 and are responsible for the feeding, turn in/out of the residents, as well as the routine daily tasks of the barn as directed by the ECC.  Morning and afternoon shifts are available.  Candidates should have some experience caring for horses and be confident in leading/handling them. We are always looking to add to the Saturday feeding Crew!

GROUNDSKEEPER/MAINTENANCE

This is a paid position requiring 8-12 hours per week.  The schedule is flexible depending on weather and convenience.  Wage ranges from $15-17/hour. Tasks expected are general groundskeeping, mowing, trimming, as well as general maintenance of repairs around the farm.
